CONCACAF sends congratulations to T&T Football Federation on 100 Years

CONCACAF sent a letter of congratulations today to the Trinidad & Tobago Football Federation (TTFF) in celebration of their 100 Years as an Association with the festivities beginning this weekend in Port of Spain.

“It is with great joy that I congratulate the Trinidad & Tobago Football Federation on its 100 years of service to our sport,” General Secretary Chuck Blazer wrote, in TTFF’s Centennial Celebration. “I can personally attest to the last quarter century as witness to the disproportionate effort in hosting events, participating in competitions and providing leadership and volunteers in the cause of football development in out region.”

“I hope your celebration is a reflection of the admiration the world of football feels about your accomplishments,” Blazer added. “I regret my inability to be there with you, but I do convey all of my personal best wishes and those of my office. May this first hundred years launch an even better second hundred and your work be a light for all to follow.”

TTFF was founded in 1908 and its Centennial Celebration was to commence on Friday with the Gala Dinner at the Dr Joao Havelange Centre of Excellence. The list of global dignitaries attending the event include: FIFA President – Joseph Blatter; FIFA Vice-President & CONCACAF President – Jack Warner; President of the Republic of Trinidad & Tobago – George Maxwell Richards; UEFA President – Michel Platini; Former FIFA President – Joao Havelange; Chairman of England FA – Lord David Triesman; Winnie Mandela; CEO of South Africa 2010 Local Organizing Committee – Danny Jordaan; President of TTFF – Oliver Camps.

The TTFF Centennial Celebration continues on Saturday at Port of Spain’s Hasley Crawford Stadium when Trinidad & Tobago host Guatemala in a CONCACAF World Cup Qualifier.
