WHAT IS GOING ON WITH BESIKTAS?…

October 9, 2008

Mustafa Denizli, YIldirim Demiroren and Tayfun Havutcu…….

So, Mustafa Denizli will be the next coach for Besiktas!…..

Does this news stops all the negative things in Besiktas team?….

I don’t think so…..

The problem with Besiktas is The current president of the team and his cronies!..

Mustaf Denizli will not save Yildirim Demiroren as a President of Besiktas.

A lot of Besiktas Fans are fed up with his administrations….

Chaos, gets worst in Besiktas team….

Consistency and confidence is not in Yildirim Demiroren’s book!…

A two days go, after Ertugrul Saglam resigned, Sinan Engin also resigned too..
at the time Yildirim Demiroren and his cronies, refused Sinan’s resignation!…

After, Mustafa Denizli signed with Besiktas Today, Sinan Engin was sacked!…

They told him he does not have a job with Besiktas team…

Because, there will not be General Manager position in the Besiktas team under Mustafa Denizli!….

As far as Denizli’s Assistants, Sergen Yalcin was no go! ….

He was told by TFF, that he is not ready to coach yet in the Turkcell Super League!…

So, Tayfun Havutcu former Besiktas captain will be his assistant!….

What is so strange to me is,

Yildirim Demiroren, said “coaches like Samet Aybaba and Mustafa Denizli will not coach and walk front of the Besiktas Club as long as I am president of this club”

After Lucescu’s rejection coaching Besiktas, Demiroren was cornered once again!..

He had no choice!… He made a another u-turn again….

I hope this u-turn will be for good!…..

I think , this is last last stop for Yildirim Demiroren……

Another person who made u- turn, was, Mustafa Denizli!……..

He told Turkish media earlier in the season, that, “I will not take a team, in the middle of the season in the Turkcell Super League”

What happened?!……………..

The man who coached in the Turkcell Super League back in 2004, after four years, coming back to the league with eating his own words!….

Confuse Besiktas team and undecided Mustafa Denizli showed his first mistake, when he named former Besiktas Player as his assistant!….

Lack of professionalism and not doing his home work before announce Sergen;s name was huge error on behalf of Mustafa Denizli and Besiktas Team…

The marriage already started with a big error in my opinion…

Finally, Ertugrul Saglam had to go. but, timing was wrong!…….

Ali Gultekin ,former General Manager and former player of Besiktas ,could it been better choice for Mustafa Denizli, in my opinion!…..

France must take more risks, says Ribery

October 9, 2008

By Bertrand Boucey

CLAIREFONTAINE, France, Oct 9 (Reuters) – France’s lack of adventure contributed to their lacklustre start in the World Cup qualifying campaign, midfielder Franck Ribery said on Thursday.

The inspirational player, who has been sidelined with an ankle injury since June, will be returning to international duty against Romania on Saturday.

In his absence France started their qualifiers with a 3-1 defeat by Austria before beating Serbia 2-1.

“What I felt during the last two matches is that we were afraid to try things,” Ribery told reporters at the team’s base outside Paris. “We must take risks. We’re France, we’ve got good players. We must enjoy ourselves on the pitch.”

Ribery, who said he felt fit enough to play 70 minutes, is expected to play on the right wing with Yoann Gourcuff taking over the playmaking duties for the Group Seven match in the Black Sea Port of Constanta.

“He’s a player who reads the game well, who’s always in a good position and who feels at ease with the ball,” Ribery said of Gourcuff. “He could be useful for me for one-two combinations and could find space for me.”

The 25-year-old Ribery is aware that a bad result in Romania could cost coach Raymond Domenech his job but the Bayern Munich player did not want to get distracted by the speculations.

“It’s important not to think about what’s behind us,” he said. “We must think only about the future and concentrate on the three points we need.”

Keane takes a swipe at Arsenal and Chelsea

October 9, 2008

SUNDERLAND, England (AFP) – Sunderland Roy Keane has accused Arsenal and Chelsea of poaching top youngsters rather than developing their own talent.

Keane believes Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger’s reputation for turning rough diamonds into polished gems is undeserved because he brings in talented teenagers from other clubs at home and abroad rather than working with players from Arsenal’s own catchment area.

The former Manchester United star is convinced Chelsea do the same, while Sunderland struggle to lure young talent to the Stadium of Light because of their location.

"The word on the street is they (Arsenal) have a group of kids coming through that will be absolutely outstanding," Keane said.

"But you go on about the kids coming through but a lot of them have been bought from other clubs, not through the academy at Arsenal. It’s the same with Chelsea."

Wenger paid big money to sign Theo Walcott from Southampton as a 17-year-old and also splashed out on Cardiff’s teenage midfielder Aaron Ramsey this close-season, while Cesc Fabregas was lured from Barcelona’s youth system.

Chelsea have also poached a number of young players from other clubs’ academies, notably Leeds United duo Michael Woods and Tom Taiwo.

"We have tough battles up here in terms of signing young players and are restricted in terms of our location," Keane added.

"You can only bring in kids from a certain radius and a lot of our radius is in the water. Any good fish out there?"

Ashley aide Jimenez leaves Newcastle

October 9, 2008

NEWCASTLE, England (AFP) – Tony Jimenez, one of Newcastle owner Mike Ashley’s key aides, left the crisis-torn Premier League club on Thursday.

Jimenez had been appointed as vice-president of player recruitment by Ashley and worked alongside executive director of football Dennis Wise.

Wise, Jimenez and technical co-ordinator Jeff Vetere were put in place to oversee all transfers, with an emphasis on signing top-class youngsters.

But the trio’s wide-ranging role infuriated Kevin Keegan, who quit St James’ Park because he didn’t have enough control over signing and selling players.

Keegan was unhappy that James Milner was allowed to join Aston Villa and Fabricio Coloccini, Jonas Gutierrez, Danny Guthrie, Xisco and Ignacio Gonzalez arrived without his approval.

Keegan’s departure sparked angry protests from Newcastle fans and the team have slumped into the relegation zone, with Joe Kinnear installed as interim manager, while Ashley tries to find a buyer for the club.

Jimenez’s departure was revealed by Newcastle in a statement that read: "Newcastle United can today confirm that Tony Jimenez has left the club.

"Tony, who was appointed vice-president (player recruitment) in January, has made the decision in order to pursue other interests."

Gallas out of Romanian match

October 9, 2008

CLAIREFONTAINE, France (AFP) – Defender William Gallas will miss France’s World Cup qualifier in Romania on Saturday, team sources said Thursday.

Jean-Alain Boumsong of Lyon will now step up to replace Arsenal’s Gallas, who has strained his right thigh.

Gallas had been rested Tuesday as the squad met up but did feature in Wednesday training.

France have three points from two matches in Group Seven having begun with a loss in Austria before beating Serbia at home to ease the pressure on coach Raymond Domenech.

Surprise package Lithuania head the group with six points.

Asian president boosts Premier League plan for 39th game

October 9, 2008

LONDON (AFP) – Mohamed Bin Hammam, president of the Asian Football Confederation, is ready to do a u-turn and back the Premier League’s controversial plan to play a 39th round of fixtures in cities across the world.

Bin Hammam was instrumental in the Premier League’s decision to withdraw their scheme in February after launching a scathing attack on the idea.

Several venues in his Confederation, including Kuala Lumper, Abu Dhabi and Tokyo, were targeted as likely hosts of the additional Premier League game, so Bin Hamman’s criticism inevitably threw a roadblock across the plan.

But Premier League chief executive Richard Scudamore is working on a fine-tuned version with club chairmen and has realised it is essential to get the support of Asian’s leading football figure.

A meeting between Scudamore and Bin Hammam has been arranged in London this week to underline the Premier League’s intention to leave a positive legacy in Asia.

That has put Bin Hammam in a more conciliatory mood and he is willing to change his mind – as long as he sees concrete evidence that the English game will lay foundations for the long-term development of Asian football rather than just use the fixtures as a means to rake in huge sums of television and gate revenue.

"We had no contact at all before the news came out, zero. Their approach has changed now," Bin Hammam told journalists in London on Thursday.

"I am going to see a presentation with Richard (Scudamore) about what the Premier League can do to help football in Asia and around the world. We should be partners and know what is the benefit for us.

"I want all the technical assistance they can provide. I know some people will think financial assistance can be part of a deal but I am not welcoming that.

"Any assistance has to go to providing coaching, workshops and offering their academies to the young people.

"We want them to convey their experiences to us. We want them to share with us their secret of success; to tell us what are the keys that can help our football. By showing us administration, technical level and supporting our coaches.

"Until now, no Asian referees can take part in European football, even in the third level. By bringing our officials into their environment, these are things which will benefit us.

"There can be financial assistance but we must teach the people how to fish and survive for life and don’t just give them the fish."

Bin Hammam, 60, was stunned when he first heard the Premier League plan but as a lifelong Liverpool fan he has always had an affinity with English football, so he is determined to foster a strong relationship with Scudamore.

"The moment some leagues are going to be played outside their territories, it is shocking news," he said. "You just want to digest it. To see the English league played in China or wherever is strange.

"I am not saying I have changed my mind totally but they are exploring ideas.

"In the past there were no ideas but now they know people want something left behind and they are up to the mark. There are no issues between Asia, myself and the Premier League.

"Whatever plans the Premier League has for its future the AFC is ready to advise and support.

"I’m proud of our relationship with the Premier League. There is too much foreign football on our continent but I’m a big fan of the Premier League."

The popularity of the Premier League in Asia has grown quickly over the last decade as television networks in the region feed fans a vast diet of live coverage from the English top-flight.

Bin Hammam isn’t worried about losing fans to the Premier League but he would prefer a poriton of the television to remain in Asia.

"Most foreign revenue for the Premier League is coming from Asia. People love to see the Premier League clubs," he said.

"It doesn’t worry me because of the fans. It worries and makes me nervous because of the tv channels that are willing to pay these huge amounts to show the Premier League and not to broadcast their local leagues.

"That is a worry, not fans attaching themselves to the Premier League."

Injured Del Potro out of Vienna tennis reckoning

October 9, 2008

VIENNA (AFP) – Juan Martin Del Potro withdrew from the Austrian Open on Thursday, suffering from an injury to his right toe.

The 20-year old from Argentina, who is seeded three, was due to play Germany’s Philipp Kohlschrieber.

The injury has dealt a blow to his hopes of qualifying for the Masters Cup to be held next month in Shanghai, and comes during his first week ranked in the world’s top 10.

Ranked 75 in April, Del Potro has become been one of the hottest players on the ATP Tour. Beginning in July, he has won 30 of 32 matches, playing five finals and claiming four titles.

Last week he reached the final in Tokyo, but was hindered by an upset stomach as he fell to Tomas Berdych.

His win on Wednesday over Austria’s Martin Fischer lifted him above James Blake into eighth position in the Race To Shanghai, but at the beginning of this week less than 100 points separated Blake and 22nd-placed Radek Stepanek.

There are just three weeks of the regular season to play, and Del Potro will hope that he will be fit to contest the Masters events in Madrid and Paris in a bid to solidify his position.

Hand-injury rules out German goalkeeper Enke

October 9, 2008

BERLIN (AFP) – Germany number-one goalkeeper Robert Enke is out of Saturday’s World Cup qualifier against Russia and next Wednesday’s match against Wales with a hand injury, it was announced on Thursday.

The 31-year-old, who succeeded Jens Lehmann as die Mannschaft’s goalkeeper after Euro 2008, broke the scaphoid bone in his hand in training on Wednesday afternoon with the national team and the injury was confirmed on Thursday.

The Hanover shot-stopper will be out for several weeks and will miss Saturday’s Group Four game in Dortmund against Russia as well as the match with Wales in Borussia Moenchegladbach next Wednesday.

It means either Werder Bremen’s Tim Wiese or Bayer Leverkusen’s Rene Adler will make their debut on Saturday.

Opinion split as Atletico Madrid rotate keepers

October 9, 2008

Two is better than one, or is it?

Atletico Madrid coach Javier Aguirre has stirred up a debate over goalkeepers by refusing to name a first choice custodian at the Calderon, rotating Argentina’s Leo Franco with France’s Gregory Coupet.

The Mexican’s policy has prompted a flurry of differing opinions after Atletico were trounced 6-1 at Barcelona last weekend, with new recruit Coupet in nets.

The Frenchman has conceded nine goals in five league games. Leo Franco, who has mainly been used in Europe, has let in three in four Champions League matches and a league encounter.

Just over 65 percent of Atletico fans surveyed on Marca’s website called for Leo Franco to be given the job for the city derby against champions Real Madrid in nine days time, breaking Aguirre’s apparent system.

The two keepers have both said they are happy with the practice, which Aguirre successfully pursued at Osasuna as he led the modest side to their highest ever Primera Liga finish (fourth) in 2006.

Few eyebrows are raised when outfield players are rotated to keep them sharp, to maintain competition for places, or even for tactical reasons.

Are goalkeepers that different? Is it better to stick with a well-defined first choice, or is it a practical way forward for teams competing on numerous fronts?

Malaysia faces losing AFC headquarters

October 9, 2008

KUALA LUMPUR (AFP) – Malaysia faces losing the headquarters of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) which it has hosted for nearly half a century, after relations with the sporting body soured.

AFC president Mohamed Bin Hammam has proposed shifting its base from the impressive eight-year-old facility on the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur, and invited applications from the body’s 46 member nations.

"It is not about problems with anyone. Simply, we are an international organization and we want headquarters in a country that can cater to our functions as a governing body," he told AFP in a statement.

"The bidding is open to all 46 member associations, including Malaysia, Singapore and Bangkok," he added.

Bin Hammam’s plan, unveiled during a July meeting of the AFC’s governing body, has come under fire from Malaysian officials including former AFC general secretary Peter Velappan.

He has described the proposal as "a total disrespect to all Malaysian leaders and staff who have worked very hard to develop and promote football in Asia".

The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) said Thursday it will not attempt to convince the AFC to stay.

"They have decided to move out and Malaysia will not bid to host the AFC headquarters," FAM general secretary Azzuddin Ahmad told AFP.

"The AFC is an independent entity. We will not stop them if they want to move out."

Ties between the two bodies took a turn for the worse last year when Malaysia decided to invite the glamour English Premier League side Manchester United for a friendly during the Asian Cup tournament.

The AFC strongly criticised Malaysia’s plan which it saw as drawing attention away from its premier event, and subsequently the Red Devils dropped their tour plans.

Malaysia co-hosted the Asian Cup along with Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam.

Azzuddin said Malaysia was not "angry or annoyed" with Bin Hammam’s plan.

"It will be an historical loss for us. But it is beyond our control," he said, noting however that the president has to secure a two-thirds approval from member countries before relocating the headquarters.

The AFC is to discuss its plan to leave AFC House during its annual meeting in Shanghai next month.

Malaysia has hosted the AFC since 1965 and its first prime minister Tunku Abdul Rahman served as its president for 24 years.
