October 8, 2008
HOUSTON (AP)—Dwayne De Rosario’s goal from 29 yards out in the 88th minute gave Houston a 2-1 win over San Francisco FC from Panama in CONCACAF Champions League Group B play Tuesday night.
De Rosario entered the match in the 78th minute for Houston and took just 10 minutes to make his mark. He stole the ball from Alberto Blanco and fired a shot into the right side of the goal.
Chris Wondolowski gave Houston a 1-0 lead in the 13th minute. Corey Ashe crossed the ball from the left side and Wondolowski, from just outside the 6-yard box, headed it in.
Temistocles Perez tied the score in the 47th minute when he got a ball headed in front of him, and blooped his shot from 30 yards out over the head of Dynamo goalkeeper Tony Caig.
The Dynamo are 1-0-2 with five points in pool play. They have three matches left and are tied for first place with UNAM, which plays Thursday against Luis Angel Firpo. San Francisco drops to last place with an 0-2-2 record.
