Sevilla striker Kanoute out injured for three weeks
October 14, 2008
MADRID (AFP) - Sevilla’s Mali international Frederic Kanoute, who tore his right calf against Chad in an African World Cup qualifier at the weekend, will be out of action for at least three weeks, the Spanish first division club said.
Further medical tests on Monday, follow Mali’s 2-1 win over Chad on Saturday when Kanoute came off in the second half, confirmed the extent of the injury.
Kanoute’s absence leaves Sevilla virtually without any strikers as Arouna Kone of Ivory Coast, Uruguayan Javier Chevanton and star Brazil striker Luis Fabiano are all out of action.
