Besiktas lose but advance to Turkish Cup final
April 23, 2009

Besiktas are through to the final of the Turkish Cup despite losing to BB Ankaraspor in Wednesday’s semi final return leg.
The Istanbul side has won the first leg 1-3 and the 1-2 defeat in the second leg was small enough to advance after all.
Roguy Meye put Ankaraspor in the lead on 22 minutes and although Filip Holosko equalised in the 35th, the visiting side got the win as Ömer Aysan made it 1-2 with nine minutes left. However, the third goal Ankaraspor needed to go into extra time, never came.
Besiktas, who are also a candidate for the Turkish league title, face Fenerbahce in the final for a classic Istanbul derby.
