FC Porto could extend their Portuguese league lead to four points this weekend as their only remaining rivals, Sporting Lisbon, drew 0-0 at Academica de Coimbra.

To make matters worse for Sporting, they lost Daniel Carrico with a red card in the 90th minute. FC Porto may be able to take advantage when the leaders visit Maritimo Funchal this Sunday.

Benfica’s third place is at risk meanwhile, as the Lisbon outfit lost 3-1 at Nacional Funchal.

All goals were scored in the second half with Nene breaking the deadlock on 56 minutes. Ruben Micael made it 2-0 eight minutes later. Spanish striker Jose Antonio Reyes got one back in the 68th but Fidalgo had the final say for the hosts, 3-1 near the full-time whistle.
