Rubin Kazan impress at Spartak Moscow

August 31, 2009

Rubin Kazan confirmed that they are once again the main candidates to win the Russian title, beating second-placed Spartak Moscow 0-3 on Sunday.

Whichever side was to win this clash, would also end the day in first place. It soon became clear that Rubin had the better chances to do so, and Sergei Semak put the visitors ahead after 32 minutes.

Alejandro Dominguez made it 2-0 from the penalty spot six minutes later, and the defending champions got a third through Alexander Bukharov in the 57th.

The gap between Rubin and Sparta grows from one to four points with 20 of 30 games played.
