“If I never win the title, I’ve failed at Liverpool”
November 18, 2009

Rafael Benitez has been under pressure for weeks now. Liverpool has a struggling season and it looks like the fans can forget a Premier League title this year. The Reds have been waiting for an English title for 19 years now. “If I never win the title, I’ve failed at Liverpool,” the Spanish manager said on Wednesday.
Benitez has been accused of putting European aspirations above domestic success, but Benitez insists he would rather win the Premier League than another Champions League crown.
Anyone who knows me knows that I want to win every trophy, every game,” Benitez told The Times. “But if you ask me what I prefer, I will say the Premier League.
“If I do not win the title, I’m sure I’d be so disappointed maybe I would have this feeling (of failure).”
