Spartak drop valuable points in Russia
November 8, 2009

Spartak Moscow suffered a big blow in their battle for the Russian title, losing 2-1 at Krylya Sovetov on Saturday.
Just a week ago, Krylya stood no chance at leaders Rubin Kazan (4-1) while Spartak beat FK Rostov na Donu 5-1.
But nothing of that could be seen this time around, as Krylya ended Spartak’s winning streak that had already lasted five games.
An own goal from Martin Stranzl gave the home side the lead in the 11th minute, and Anton Bober doubled the advantage just two minutes later.
A 90th-minute goal from Alex was too little and too late for the visiting side.
Rubin, who travel to face CSKA Moscow on Sunday, could extend their lead over Spartak to four points with two games to go.
