Stankovic: “I’m sure we will play a great game against Dynamo”

Inter Milan faces a crucial Champions League match against Dynamo Kiev on Wednesday night. Anything but a win would seriously harm the Nerazzurri’s chances of advancing to the next round.

After three matches, Inter Milan lie fourth in the group with just three ponts. Barcelona, Rubin Kazan and Dynamo Kiev gathered four points out of their first three matches. Dejan Stankovic thinks the situation in their group will be different after tonight’s important match.

“We have worked hard, we have made very good preparations for tomorrow’s game and I am sure we will play a great game against Dynamo,” the Inter-midfielder said on a press conference.

We are very confident in our potential and our coach,” added Stankovic, who insists the Nerazzurri can repeat their domestic form on the continent.

“We will do everything to change this start to the European campaign and win tomorrow. We have worked a lot on this aspect and we know where the problem lies.”

Before the start of this season’s Champions League, UEFA president Michel Platini tipped Inter as one of the candidates to lift the trophy.

Stankovic believes he and his teammates can prove Platini was right upon regarding the Italian giants as a favourite for the title.

“If Michel Platini, a man who knows the values of football, said this, then it’s true. There’s still a long way to go and it’s too soon to say that Inter are out of the running. Things aren’t easy for us in the group, but we’re not scared.”
