Fulham seal Riise swoop

July 23, 2009

Fulham signed Norway midfielder Bjorn Helge Riise from Lillestrom for an undisclosed fee on Wednesday.

Riise, brother of Roma defender John Arne, agreed a three-year contract with the Premier League club after passing a medical.

The 26-year-old told the club’s official website: “It is a dream come true for me to have signed for Fulham.

“Obviously I know Brede (Hangeland) and Erik (Nevland) very well from the national team and they have only good things to say about the club.

“Fulham had a fantastic season last year under Roy Hodgson who is a manager I admire very much.”
